One of the main reasons my group and I decided to test the pH levels, due to the salt for the snow, of nearby lakes was because of the refugee families that were fishing at North Side Park. We were concerned that they were unaware of the potential danger of eating the fish from the lake. If for some reason it were to be prohibited to eat the fish, we were concerned that the refugees specifically would not know to do so. In researching, we found that many people in the Wheaton community fish and eat what they catch.
