Our group will conduct water and sediment samples from the lagoon at Northside Park. Samples will be analyzed for chemical contaminants. The study’s purpose is to measure the potential effects of water pollution on the local community, particularly those who fish at Northside Park.

Over the weekend, our group came to a preliminary agreement with Wheaton North High School’s AP Env. Biology program coordinator in regards to presenting the results of our study. We also were introduced to a Wheaton Park district program that regularly monitors water pollution at Northside Park, and were given names to contact.

Over the course of the next week, we plan to begin the process of data collection.
